Formula references and assumptions Standard-air factors: 1.08 ≈ 60 × 0.075 × 0.24 for sensible heat; 4.5 ≈ 60 × 0.075 for enthalpy-based heat. The 0.68 latent factor is an approximation using grains of moisture per pound of dry air. The water factor of 500 assumes water, not glycol. Each calculator explains its own limits.
